It’s Official!! It’s ‘A’ Week!!

It’s that time again!! ,  IT’S ‘A’ WEEK!!!!  What’s ‘A’ Week about, you ask?  Great question-it’s an annual online event that raises awareness to show just how many people are ‘good without gods.’

According to the A Week website:

You take part by changing your Facebook profile picture or cover image to an ‘A’ for one week. You’ll be joining thousands of people from all over the world in a global shared experience. If just a handful of people were to change their profile pictures almost no one would notice – but with many thousands taking part it gets noticed all over the world.

good without god A week
‘A’ Week is not about being disrespectful to religions or people who have religious views, it’s about quietly showing there are many people who are ‘Good without Gods’ and don’t need religions to influence their lives.

  1. ‘good without gods.’
The thing is, it has nothing to do with how good we are. I mean, whose standard are you going to go by. Yours? Mine? Stalin’s? The only thing that you need to be concerned about is forgiveness; forgiveness for real guilt because guess what? Nobody can be good enough to be good enough for heaven. So you can either get up to speed and deal with the issue at hand, or you can hide behind your pseudo intellectual parade of “look at me and how good I am.”

Either deal with the truth or hide from it. The choice is yours.

    Good luck on your journey.

    1. Whose standards am I going by? Mine. Surely not the bible’s. If I feel I have erred I forgive myself. I don’t measure my life, or actions against the barometer of the bible or any other ‘holy’ book. To quote Abraham Lincoln…’when I do good, I feel good. When I do bad I feel bad, (that is my religion).’ When I feel bad I take the necessary corrective steps. Not sure where you drew your reference of ‘look at me and how good I am…’ That’s not the point of the post. I do not need gods (yours or anyone else’s) to determine my worth. I do what I can, when I can- to be of assistance to others, not for brownie points, recognition, an afterlife reward-but because it’s the RIGHT thing to do.

I ventured to your blog. You troll for Atheists? Do you troll for attention-that’s usually why people troll.

According to your blog (see my answers between the slashes):

“You know how atheists rarely venture outside of the Old Testament lest they run into teachings of Jesus that convict them of a deep need for forgiveness? //FALSE//

And you know how atheists accuse Christians of cherry-picking verses to make our case? //Christians do cherry pick the bible//
Do you think atheists ever do the same thing? //FALSE//

Now atheists incorrectly associate Southern U.S. Slavery with the safety net slavery of early Israel. //SOURCE??//
That is why you will never see or hear an atheist ranting about this?”//You want to tell Atheists what to ‘rant’ about??//
